Sebastian Varga wrote his first lines of code at eight years old on a Commodore 64. Then an Amiga 500. Then it became a career.
He started at the bottom of the stack -- literally. Crawling under raised floors in data centers, cutting his fingers on rack rails, running copper and fiber to get systems online. From there, he worked his way up: networking, systems, infrastructure, security.
Along the way: helping design and deploy early spine-leaf network architectures in Google data centers around 2009. Later, working with the infrastructure around Borg -- Google's internal cluster management system that eventually became Kubernetes. Then enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud-native platforms, and cyber security.
25+ years of building, deploying, migrating, automating, and hardening systems -- from the physical layer to the application layer.
Today he runs l22.io from Zug, Switzerland. Still hands-on. Still writes code. Still knows which end of a fiber cable goes where.
